Windows 8 (Windows Sucks)

Hi, first I'd like to say well done on making this site, I did like Microsoft at one point, but now it's crap in my opinion, especially when Bill Gates left, all hell has broken loose.

This post of mine is about Windows 8. My god what a terrible operating system, I'm sorry but I think it's an epic fail, the Windows Media Player no longer plays discs because Microsoft seems to think that discs are old school and no longer necessary...

Ok, they are old school, kind of, and they aren't necessary, but that doesn't mean no-one wants to use them anymore. I like technology as much as the next guy, but I still like my comfort at the same time. Who the hell says we have to use devices that we don't want to? When I'm outside, I see people wrapped up with iphones and tablets on Facebook, and it makes me depressed. How long will it be until Windows 8 is old school? What's the point of making these things if you don't use them or they don't last? I still use Windows 7, and I have made system changes to suit myself. The Windows 8 GUI does not appeal to me as much as the older interfaces. There isn't even a start button anymore. Windows 8 works fine on iphones and tablets, touch screen devices, but not if you use a mouse and physical keyboard.

Thank you for allowing me to express my feelings towards Windows. The early 2000's were the best of times in my opinion. Congratulations on the site, would you mind making one of Facebook too? Facebook sucks as well.

Windows 8

MS made the Win8 interface optimised for touchpads and for the sake of conformity used the same interface on the PC.

In other words, they assumed we are too dumb to understand whether we are using a touchpad or a PC. Like a car maker fitting handlebars instead of a steering wheel in case we don't get it that we are not riding a bike.

Fortunately they have made many of their faithful users leave in droves. I use Linux and can choose what sort of interface I want - one like Win8 with Ubuntu's Unity, or one more like WinXP with KDE, or a minimalist graphical interface with LXDE.

Don't tell me that you have a choice of traditional or touchpad interfaces in Win8. Though I never tried it, I gather it does not work out too well, with some apps available only in one form or the other.
